 Happy Birthday G

This tracksuit was completed just before I left for your concert on the 13th, which by the way was a madness, congratulations and happy belated birthday, keep making moves g.

I know we discussed getting this done months prior, but as an artist, you know how it is to put your heart and soul into each piece, and for some time I wasn’t in the right place to do that. None of my work is pre-planned, you could say I dance with the piece, figuring out how the placement and colour of leaves best express the user. This is specifically tailored to you, the fit, the colour-way, the London vibe, and most of all the Airforce 1, all brought together by 60+ hours of work and process, including dying, and hand painting, as well as the special packaging that was hand cut, lasered and is sustainable.

The rest of this page will explain some of the thoughts behind your piece, hope you enjoy it.

THE FIT

Heavy weight yet soft tracksuit by ACG and Nike lab, perfect for the Autumn/Winter period. Comfy on road, in the studio and with a thought to the fit and design can be worn whilst attending fashion shows.

THE COLOUR-WAY

As seen at the top of the page the colour-way was inspired by autumn leaves. The OG camouflage, with a contemporary twist, hence the grey leaves sitting on a black tracksuit, so wether you’re in the ends or Selfridges you’ll stand out but can be appreciated either way.

Below is the colour pallet used to create your piece. the greens, the mustards, the browns all hand mixed to paint the leaves on your tracksuit.

THE DESIGN

the other factors are like characters in a story, the fit and colour-way don’t mean shit if they’re not brought together with a good plot. Every detail you see was a decision made, the leaves were printed one by one, considering there placement and direction, sometimes it took 5 mins to print the next, others 30min + each leaf has a reason to be there and if it was in the wrong place you’ll subconsciously catch it, its like looking at a shelf but its off by 3 degrees, its hard to notice but you’ll look twice and its a pisstake. The idea of the leaves on the hoodie is that its dense at the bottom and sparse at the top like you’re walking from a park onto the pavement. The direction and distance between the footprints suggest someone walking, but casually, the space between the feet show they’re a bit more relaxed as if you were going at speed you would have more vertical distance not horizontal.

Choosing which leaves to paint green as well took some time. To please the eye there had to be balance, the painted ones had to be scattered evenly so it doesn’t end up looking ‘wonky’.

THE END

Unfortunately I didn’t get any pictures of the piece before i handed it over, but i did an illustration to reflect what it looks like, it was a pleasure to work on this piece and again keep making moves g i need to see you rocking this at one of your concerts eventually. Much Love.
